Ella Frances Shaffer – Back Pain After Surgery Testimonial

Ella Frances Shaffer came to ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center because she had been suffering with what she referred to as “severe” pain for years. The pain was a result of two back surgeries, in 2002 and 2003. Ella said, “The pain was so severe, I could hardly function properly to do my chores.” Ella reported that the pain was at a level 8 out of 10 when she started treatment at ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center. “The pain was so severe it caused me to go into a deep depression. I had no energy to get up out of bed in the morning.”

Before coming to ARC, she had been seen by medical doctors and took pain medications that had little to no effect. Ella had come across an article about ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center that inspired her to seek therapy. After her first treatment, Ella was  thrilled that she could stand up and walk in an upright position.

While receiving treatment at ARC, Ella was given acupuncture with electrical stimulation, moxibustion treatments, physical therapy and massage therapy. After a month of treatments, Ella reported her pain level to be down to a 1 and 0 out of 10. “It has been a drastic change in my lifestyle. I can now do all my chores, clean, cook, go out walking and have dinner out.”

Ella was not only happy with the results of her therapy, but she was also happy with the personal treatment she received from the therapists and acupuncturist. “They were all so helpful, showing concern for my misery. They were so polite and sweet to me!” Ella said that she is completely comfortable referring friends and family to ARC, because she knows they will receive the best possible care and treatment available.

Lori Campbell – Lower Back Pain Testimonial

Lori Campbell came to ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center after her husband experienced success with treatment on his shoulder blade pain. Lori had been in pain since 1999 after she had a bone fusion, and had been suffering with lower back and neck pain as a result of scoliosis and degenerative bones.

Since Lori was in such pain, she was unable to do her gardening, housework or walk for any length of time. Her pain would vary in range from a 6 out of 10 to a 10 out of 10. Lori said, “I would spend days in bed from the pain.” Lori had had back surgery, cortisone shots, traditional physical therapy, chiropractic treatments and pain medications before deciding to come to ARC for help.

“I was surprised when I felt results from only the first treatment,” Lori said. While receiving therapy at ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center, she had manual therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture with stimulation, acupressure and physical therapy. “After a month’s worth of treatments, I am now going full force. I used to have to lay down every afternoon, and now I don’t have to!” Lori is just thrilled that she has so much more energy now that the pain is gone. “My pain is now a 0 out of 10. I am just amazed at my lower back and how much better it feels!”

Lori was also glad to receive therapy at a place where the therapists were so empathetic toward her pain. She tells all her friends about ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center.

Wayne Free – Neck Pain Testimonial

Wayne Free had been suffering from neck pain for more than five years as the result of a motorcycle accident. At age 44, Wayne was in too much pain to ride a motorcycle, wasn't sleeping well, and found that driving for work was extremely uncomfortable. He sought treatment with an orthopedist,  chiropractor, and traditional physical therapy in the hopes of getting relief. He tried pain medications and epidural shots, all of which supplied only temporary relief.

At a visit with his rheumatologist, it was recommended that he come to ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center for treatment. Willing to try anything, Wayne agreed to receive acupuncture and cupping treatments, along with massage and physical therapy. Upon visiting ARC, Wayne felt as though the staff was very helpful, polite and knowledgeable, but most of all encouraging. After a couple of treatments, Wayne was sore, but with the encouragement from ARC's staff and the recommendation from his physician, he persevered.

Wayne's pain is now down from a level 9 out of 10 to a 1, even a 0, out of 10. His range of motion has improved. Wayne is now able to turn his head left and right, making driving for work more comfortable and getting a good night's sleep more common. He even started riding his motorcycle again. He recommends ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center to his coworkers who have back pain.
