Annie Price – Lower Back and Neck Pain Testimonial

Annie Price, an independent, 84-years-young woman, had been suffering from lower back pain for over 30 years. She had also developed severe neck pain and stiffness as the years went on. Along with her severe back pain, Annie was unable to move her neck to the left at all. She was afraid to drive, wasn't sleeping well and  was unable to perform some housecleaning tasks. Annie had spinal injections and also saw a chiropractor, but both treatments gave Annie only temporary relief.

Annie's daughter told her about the success stories she had heard about acupuncture. Annie asked her primary care physician, who  recommended ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center. After Annie's first visit, she was sure she had come to the right place. She thought the staff and therapists were very knowledgeable, and she was impressed with their willingness to take time to talk to her, answer all her questions and address her concerns.

While at ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center, Annie received acupuncture, acupuncture with stimulation, physical therapy and massage therapy. After a month and a half of therapy, Annie was able to finally move her neck to left without pain. She is now able to drive more comfortably, can do more housework, and is sleeping better. When she came to ARC, her pain was at a level 9 out of 10. It is now down to a 2 out of 10.

Annie is so excited to finally have her pain under control, without medication, and with a restored faith in the healing powers of acupuncture. Annie tells all her friends her success story, and encourages them to come to ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center.

Brenda Strickland, a fun-loving 60-year-old female, had been suffering from severe pain in her lower back caused from a curvature in her spine that she had since her late teen years. Brenda was in extreme pain. Her leg would become numb and she would often limp when walking. It was uncomfortable for Brenda to move about, which prevented her from being able to shop, and limited her housework capabilities. Sitting for any extended period e was also painful.

Brenda had three cortisone shots that did not alleviate the pain, and had several experiences with traditional physical therapy that only gave her temporary relief. She had resigned herself to live with the discomfort, until her rheumatologist recommended ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center. After her first treatment, Brenda was amazed. She had never had acupuncture before and she was a little skeptical. The only thing that made her somewhat sore her first treatment was the physical therapy.

Along with acupuncture and physical therapy, Brenda also received massage therapy and acupuncture with stimulation. When she first started therapy, she was experiencing pain at a level 9 out of 10. Her pain level is now down to a 2 out of 10. She believes her results are so dramatic because the focus of this treatment is to correct the source of the pain. Debra Kerr – Fibromyalgia Testimonial

Debra Kerr, a vibrant 51-year-old woman, had been suffering from fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis for several years. Her pain, in her lower back and left shoulder, was consistently a 7-8 out of 10. Unfortunately, her pain was limiting her from performing simple daily activities such as shopping and housework because she had to rest so frequently.

Debra first sought treatment with her rheumatologist and took pain pills and used hot and cold packs to treat the pain. After that treatment did not give Debra much relief, her rheumatologist recommended ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center. She was a little nervous about the acupuncture, but amazed with the relief she felt.

Along with the acupuncture, Debra also received physical therapy, massage therapy and exercise. After 10 visits, her pain has decreased to a 1-2 out of 10. She recently went shopping all day with her mother and played darts with her sons on her birthday.

Debra feels that the staff at ARC is very friendly, concerned and personally involved with her well-being. Debra stated, "They noticed things my family members didn't notice, and I have a close family!" Debra is hoping that her oldest son will seek treatment at Arc for his persistent back problems.

Beverly Powell – Fibromyalgia Testimonial

Beverly Powell, a patient of ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center, had been suffering with swelling and pain all over her body. She had had this condition for over two years. The pain and swelling were associated with her fibromyalgia. When Beverly first came to ARC, she told the therapist that her pain was a 10 out of 10. The pain was so bad that Beverly had trouble functioning with her daily tasks. Sometimes her pain was so bad that it was exhausting just going to the rest room and back. Beverly was unable to get a good night’s sleep, couldn’t walk any distance and couldn’t perform daily chores. Beverly didn’t see any hope for relief.

Before coming to ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center, she went to a neurologist, orthopedist, and a general practitioner. All told her it was arthritis. Beverly finally saw a specialist who determined it was arthritis and fibromyalgia. After prescribing various pain killers to no avail, her specialist recommended ARC for physical therapy and acupuncture. Beverly received physical therapy, massage therapy, manual therapy, acupuncture and electrical stimulation from ARC’s therapists.

Reflecting on her treatment, Beverly said, “The therapists eased into my therapy as I felt more relief. It was baby steps at first, but now I can accept more vigorous treatment.” On Beverly’s first visit to ARC, she was in so much pain the therapists could hardly touch her. “After my third treatment, I was already getting some relief, and I started sleeping better than I have in years!”

After eight treatments, Beverly has had almost a week of little to no pain. She has resumed cleaning house and shopping, and has even gone on outings to the beach. Beverly said that these activities were impossible before. “It’s like a miracle. I appreciated even a little relief, but when I had several days without pain, I cried happy tears rather than tears because of excruciating pain.”

Beverly felt as though the staff at ARC were “... very kind and genuinely cared about their patient’s well-being.” She is recommending her sister, who has been suffering with fibromyalgia for 14 years, come to ARC for therapy and relief. “This treatment gives me hope for a better quality of life and the ability to cope.”

Nilda Acevedo – Fibromyalgia Testimonial

Nilda Acevedo, a good-natured and positive-minded, 61-year-old woman, had been suffering with fibromyalgia since 1987. Her fibromyalgia had been causing her pain from head to toe. Nilda also has spurs in her knees, which have caused excruciating pain in her legs. Nilda was unable to do any stationary standing at all, and was taking medication for pain two to three times a week. Nilda also received multiple cortisone shots that had little to no effect, besides causing weight gain.

In 1994, Nilda received physical therapy, but it wasn't effective. She felt as though the therapists didn't give her specific problems enough individualized attention. She again tried physical therapy in 2000, but unfortunately, it didn't give her any relief. Finally, Nilda saw a rheumatologist who recommended physical therapy and acupuncture treatments.

Nilda came to ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center. She was very impressed with how the therapists took their time to find out where the pain was coming from, and offered her a step-by-step prognosis. Nilda was glad that it was very different from her other failed attempts at physical therapy. While receiving therapy at ARC, Nilda had acupuncture, acupuncture with stimulation, cupping, physical therapy and massage therapy.

After a month of treatment, Nilda is now able to stand stationary for longer periods of time, enabling her to cook and wash dishes. Nilda is just thrilled that she "... hasn't taken any pain killers since the first week of treatment!" Nilda is so happy that the staff at ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center is so knowledgeable and gives such excellent care. Nilda has already recommended a friend of hers to ARC, who is now creating their own success story.

Kovee Clair – Fibromyalgia Testimonial

Kovee Clair was suffering from fibromyalgia for the past three years. She said that everything hurt. Her pain was mainly in her shoulders, upper back and hip area. She had also had two major strokes and countless minor strokes around the same time she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Kovee was having regular falling accidents, was unable to go upstairs, or walk any distances, and was unable to raise her arms up over her head. Kovee's life was very limited, even after receiving traditional physical therapy and occupational therapy. She had even resorted to receiving treatment from a chiropractor. Unfortunately, none of these treatments gave Kovee any relief. The doctor who had been treating her fibromyalgia recommended acupuncture treatment.

Kovee came to ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center with the hopes of getting some relief. After her first visit, she was surprised that she felt better. She really started to feel the long-term relief after about five treatments. Kovee received physical therapy, massage therapy, cupping and acupuncture with stimulation. Kovee can now climb stairs for the first time in three years and raise her arms over her head. She has not had any more falling accidents.

Kovee was very impressed with the staff at ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center. She felt as though the staff was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. She is just thrilled that she no longer feels pain everywhere. Kovee thought, like many fibromyalgia sufferers, that there wasn't any hope for her condition. She tells everyone she knows about the therapy and care she has received from ARC, and hopes that her testimonial will help others recover from pain, as well.

Diane Kaiser – Osteroarthritis Testimonial

Diane Kaiser had been suffering with severe back pain for fifteen years before coming to ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center. Diane was having trouble walking any distances, performing household chores had become very difficult and getting going in the mornings was a long process. Diane said, “I had to sit in a straight back chair for about an hour before I could start my day”. Because Diane was in a lot of pain, she had been pro-active to treat her condition. Diane had seen an orthopedic surgeon and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. In an effort to help her arthritis, she had taken anti-inflammatory medications, she had two spinal epidurals and two facet injections. All of which had no lasting affect on her condition and Diane was eager to try something new to help relieve her pain.

Her daughter told her about ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center and the success they were having with other patients who have similar conditions. So, Diane decided she was ready to give it a try. At her first visit, Diane reported to the therapists that her pain level was an 8 out of 10 and it was recommended that she come to ARC three times a week for four weeks in order to tackle her pain level. While receiving treatment at ARC, Diane received manual physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture with stimulation and cupping. Diane was happy to express, “I was very impressed with Dr Wang’s knowledge and ability to locate the root of my problem in my spine”. Diane went on to say, “All the therapists took their time to explain everything, they were all so thorough and thoughtful by giving individual attention and really taking their time with me.”

After a month’s worth of treatments, Diane is able to get ready in the mornings in half the time. Diane said excitedly, “I am actually able to move around straight out of bed!”. Diane is now taking walks for exercise and her household chores have become much easier to perform. Her once level 8 out of 10 pain level is now down to a 1, even a 0 at times. Diane is happy to tell all her friends about her tremendous changes since her therapy.
