Kovee Clair was suffering from fibromyalgia for the past three years. She said that everything hurt. Her pain was mainly in her shoulders, upper back and hip area. She had also had two major strokes and countless minor strokes around the same time she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Kovee was having regular falling accidents, was unable to go upstairs, or walk any distances, and was unable to raise her arms up over her head. Kovee's life was very limited, even after receiving traditional physical therapy and occupational therapy. She had even resorted to receiving treatment from a chiropractor. Unfortunately, none of these treatments gave Kovee any relief. The doctor who had been treating her fibromyalgia recommended acupuncture treatment.

Kovee came to ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center with the hopes of getting some relief. After her first visit, she was surprised that she felt better. She really started to feel the long-term relief after about five treatments. Kovee received physical therapy, massage therapy, cupping and acupuncture with stimulation. Kovee can now climb stairs for the first time in three years and raise her arms over her head. She has not had any more falling accidents.

Diane Kaiser had been suffering with severe back pain for fifteen years before coming to ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center. Diane was having trouble walking any distances, performing household chores had become very difficult and getting going in the mornings was a long process. Diane said, “I had to sit in a straight back chair for about an hour before I could start my day”. Because Diane was in a lot of pain, she had been pro-active to treat her condition. Diane had seen an orthopedic surgeon and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. In an effort to help her arthritis, she had taken anti-inflammatory medications, she had two spinal epidurals and two facet injections. All of which had no lasting affect on her condition and Diane was eager to try something new to help relieve her pain.

Her daughter told her about ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center and the success they were having with other patients who have similar conditions. So, Diane decided she was ready to give it a try. At her first visit, Diane reported to the therapists that her pain level was an 8 out of 10 and it was recommended that she come to ARC three times a week for four weeks in order to tackle her pain level. While receiving treatment at ARC, Diane received manual physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture with stimulation and cupping. Diane was happy to express, “I was very impressed with Dr Wang’s knowledge and ability to locate the root of my problem in my spine”. After a month’s worth of treatments, Diane is able to get ready in the mornings in half the time. Diane said excitedly, “I am actually able to move around straight out of bed!”. Diane is now taking walks for exercise and her household chores have become much easier to perform. Her once level 8 out of 10 pain level is now down to a 1, even a 0 at times. Diane is happy to tell all her friends about her tremendous changes since her therapy.

Mercedes Moreira had been suffering with severe low back pain that radiated down to her knee for 5 years. Mercedes was suffering from Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis. Mercedes said, “I was unable to perform any normal activities including cleaning, gardening and just walking”. She went on to say, “I spent most of my time in a reclining chair, and a lot of the time I even slept there.”

Mercedes had visited her Doctor for her severe pain and was put in a wheel chair and used a cane when necessary. Mercedes had injections in her back and took pain medication regularly to reduce the pain level. She also saw a Chiropractor, but none of the treatments gave her any relief. Mercedes had success with acupuncture 30 years earlier for migraines and out of desperation she told her doctor that she needed acupuncture. “Thankfully”, she added, “my Arthritis Clinic recommended ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center.”

Mercedes’ pain was so severe that she didn’t start to show signs of improvement until the third or fourth treatment with ARC. While receiving treatment at ARC, Mercedes had Acupuncture, Electro-stimulation, Manual Therapy, Massage Therapy, and Exercise Training, By her tenth visit, Mercedes was able to do her housework, she is back to gardening and she takes walks every morning.

When Mercedes started therapy at ARC Physical Therapy and Pain Center, she reported to the Physical Therapist that her pain level was a 10 out of 10. Mercedes said excitedly, “after a month’s worth of treatment, my pain level is down to a 0 to 1 out of 10!”

Barbara Rutherford, a 68 year old pleasant woman, suffered from neck, shoulder, low back and knee pain for many years. "The pain in these joints is because of the osteoarthritis", explains Barbara and continues: "The pain was 7 or 8/10 and it effected my life so drastically that I had difficulty walking and I was unable to go shopping, do my gardening or even play with my grandchildren! ".

Barbara found temporary relief with medications such as NSAID's, conventional physical therapy, traction and corticosteroid injections. But recently, the local rheumatologist referred Barbara to ARC - Physical Therapy & Pain Center. "I was reluctant to receive the acupuncture but I decided to give it a try anyway", said Barbara.

After the first treatment Barbara was quite sore, but 7 treatments later a 60% improvement was noted.
